At the start of December 2019, we opened our state-of-the-art roastery in Glenrothes, Fife. Being located in the heart of Scotland, we’re proud to be one of the leading speciality coffee roasters in the country, roasting on a 70kg, 25kg, 12kg and 2.5kg Diedrich.

For us, Glenrothes is more than just a convenient base – it’s home. Our founder, Lynsey Harley, grew up in Finglassie and went to Auchmuty High School, so the links to the town run deeper than business. Opening the roastery here was as much about returning to her roots as it was about building a thriving coffee company.

From Glenrothes, our coffee now travels far and wide. We export across the US and Europe, and you’ll find Modern Standard being served everywhere from Fisher & Donaldson in St Andrews to the Louis Vuitton cafés, and in bakeries as far afield as Denmark and New York.

Since 2019, we’ve roasted here in Fife, and while much of our coffee heads across the world, locals have their own secret advantage: our roastery shop is open to everyone.
