Most coffee subscriptions ship coffee that’s already been sitting in a warehouse for weeks before it reaches you. Ours doesn’t. Modern Standard roasts every subscription order to order, at our own roastery in Glenrothes, Fife — then it’s on its way to you, wherever in Scotland or the wider UK you are. We’re not trying to be the biggest coffee subscription in the country. We’d rather be the one Scotland actually trusts.

We roast in small batches at our Glenrothes roastery and dispatch shortly after — the whole point of a subscription is that your coffee should never be stale, and that only works if it's actually fresh when it's roasted, not just fresh when it's bagged.

We’re based in Fife, and most of our subscribers are too — but “Scotland’s coffee subscription” doesn’t mean Scotland-only. We deliver right across Scotland and the rest of the UK, free on any order over £30.
Fife to Edinburgh is a short trip, for us and for your coffee.

Yes — we deliver across Scotland and the rest of the UK, Edinburgh and Glasgow included. Delivery is free on orders over £30.

Can I choose which coffee I get in my subscription?
Yes — pick your own favourite, or choose a rotating selection if you'd rather leave it to us.

Can I pause or cancel my subscription?
Yes — rolling subscriptions can be paused, skipped or cancelled at any time from your account, no phone call needed. Pre-paid and gift subscriptions can skip too. Skipping delays that delivery rather than cancelling it — you still receive every bag you have paid for, just later.
How much is delivery?
£1.95 on a 200g bag and £2.95 on larger sizes, and free on any order over £30. Pre-paid and gift subscription prices include delivery for the whole term.
Is a Modern Standard subscription good value without a discount code?
We don't rely on discount codes to make our subscription worth it — you're paying for coffee that's roasted to order by a team led by a Q Grader and World Barista Championship judge, not a lower headline price offset by constant vouchers.
