Good coffee should turn up before you run out
Most coffee subscriptions ship coffee that's already been sitting in a warehouse for weeks before it reaches you. Ours doesn't. Modern Standard roasts every subscription order to order, at our own roastery in Glenrothes, Fife — then it's on its way to you, free of charge, wherever in Scotland or the wider UK you are. We're not trying to be the biggest coffee subscription in the country. We'd rather be the one Scotland actually trusts.

We roast and send
We roast in small batches at our Glenrothes roastery and dispatch shortly after — the whole point of a subscription is that your coffee should never be stale, and that only works if it's actually fresh when it's roasted, not just fresh when it's bagged.

We're based in Fife, and most of our subscribers are too — but “Scotland's coffee subscription” doesn't mean Scotland-only. Delivery is free and included on every subscription, wherever you are in Scotland or the rest of the UK.
Fife to Edinburgh is a short trip, for us and for your coffee.
