Meet the Modern Standard team

Leading the way. Lynsey founded Modern Standard and grew up in Glenrothes, a few minutes from our roastery. She's a Q Grader, UK Cup Tasting Champion and World Barista Championship judge, and she chooses and cups every coffee we sell. Ricky, our Technical Director, is one of the UK's leading coffee machine experts. He was pivotal in designing the version of the Victoria Arduino Eagle One made for GAIL's bakeries, built to be robust enough for their needs.

In the roastery. Zak, our Head Coffee Roaster, and Calum roast every batch on our Diedrich roasters in Glenrothes. Susan leads the production team of Jason, Caitlin and Jennifer B, who pack and send your coffee. Jennifer W is our tea specialist.

Looking after our partners. Ali, Lee and Adrien work with our wholesale partners, from cafés and bakeries to offices and caterers. Egle leads coffee experience and barista training at our London Coffee Studio, and Calum trains teams across Scotland.

Telling our story. Katie looks after social media and marketing.

Keeping things running. Ellen runs service operations at our Harlow workshop, Ewan runs roastery operations in Glenrothes, and Louise looks after finance and admin.

Fixing the machines. Alex and Michael are engineers with our sister company, Modern Standard Service, installing and repairing commercial coffee machines from the Harlow workshop.
