Christmas creeps up faster every year, and coffee is one of those gifts that always goes down well, provided you get it right.

Rather than one generic list, we've organised this guide by the kind of coffee drinker you're actually buying for. Find them below, and work from there.

For the espresso obsessive

They almost certainly already have opinions about grind size and dose. Buy them whole bean coffee from our coffee range in a roast they haven't tried, or a small upgrade for their setup from our brewing equipment, such as a proper tamp mat or milk jug.

For the filter purist

Someone who brews pour-over or batch filter at home will usually appreciate a lighter, more adventurous single origin they might not pick for themselves. It's a nice chance to introduce something a bit different from their everyday bag.

For the decaf drinker

Decaf gifting has a habit of feeling like an afterthought, and it really doesn't need to. Our Mellow Decaf is smooth, chocolatey and genuinely enjoyable, a good way to show you've actually thought about it rather than grabbing whatever decaf was nearest.

For the total beginner

If someone is just getting into coffee, keep it simple. A reliable, well-balanced bag from our bestsellers, alongside a gift card so they can explore further once they know what they like, is a safe and genuinely useful starting point.

For someone who has everything

Consider a coffee subscription instead of a single gift. It keeps showing up for weeks after Christmas Day itself, which makes it feel like a much bigger gift than it actually costs.

For the person you don't know that well

Secret Santa, a colleague, a distant relative. This is exactly what our coffee gifts collection is designed for: thoughtful without requiring insider knowledge of their brewing setup.

Don't forget the small stuff

Syrups, a decent mug or a set of barista cloths make excellent stocking fillers alongside a main gift, and we'll have a dedicated stocking filler guide closer to the day.

A note on ordering

Speciality coffee is roasted in small batches rather than mass produced, so popular gift sets and blends can sell out as Christmas approaches. If you've spotted something you like the sound of, it's worth ordering sooner rather than closer to the day.

Shop the guide

Browse our full coffee gifts collection, our bestsellers, or the full coffee range if you already know exactly what they'd love.

We'll have more detailed gift guides, including a full budget breakdown and stocking filler ideas, over the coming weeks as Christmas gets closer.
