How to make a matcha latte

Two minutes, no special kit needed. A small whisk or milk frother gives the smoothest result.

  1. 1Add 1.5g of matcha (about half a teaspoon) to your mug.
  2. 2Add 30ml of warm or cold water.
  3. 3Whisk or froth until smooth, with no lumps and a light foam on top.
  4. 4Top with steamed milk, or warm water at 60–70°C. Add a syrup if you like it sweet.

Tip: no lumps? Sift the matcha first, or mix it into a paste with a splash of cold water before adding the hot water.

Good to know

Is it sweetened?

No. It's 100% matcha green tea powder with no added sugar. Add a syrup if you'd like it sweeter.

How much matcha should I use?

Around 1.5g per drink, about half a teaspoon. Use a little more for a stronger flavour.

Does matcha contain caffeine?

Yes. Matcha is made from green tea leaves, so it contains caffeine.

What's the difference between original and ceremonial?

This is Zuma's original matcha: earthy and full-bodied, made to stand up to milk and syrups. For something brighter and more delicate to drink with just water, try our Classic Ceremonial Matcha.

How should I store it?

Reseal the pouch after use and keep it somewhere cool and dry. For the best flavour, use within six weeks of opening.

Can I buy matcha for my café or office?

Yes. For regular or larger orders, get in touch with our wholesale team.
